@mismi,
I refuse to take any responsibility for Pete.

I will drink his sake, though.

Since I was unfamiliar with the passage, I looked it up and here it is:

Quote:
Mark 16:17-18
King James Version (KJV)

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Why can't they just lay hands on the sick to show their belief?

The last time I went hunting,
I was 9 years old; my 8 year old friend enticed me. He shared my first name.
We went snake hunting on the Arizona desert; found nothing. just as well

If he had his way with the snake in private,
then what is your jurisprudential analysis??

Is this just a harmless but naughty fantasy of yours, or are you seriously advocating voter discrimination?

By the way, have you ever been an atheist in bad standing? Smile

The government should not interfere with any religious practice without a great overriding need to do so and given as I had already posted handling dangerous animals is allow in many public venues for non-religious reasons I do not see the overriding need here.

How does one know that one is an atheist in good standing? I don't have a membership card. Was a club established, and nobody told me?

Reads my posting in contend that contain that sentence and you would not have a need to ask that question.

Of course you likely did so and you just are looking to play games by taking a comment out of it total content.

Note my objection
to any voter discrimination among citizens,
including children whose voting rights shud be equally respected.

@BillRM,
Aw, don't take me so seriously. I was just looking for an occasion to be humorous (albeit slightly). Wasn't going to play games with you. I had no intention of having an extended dialogue with you (if only for the reason that I don't have a lot of time now to spend online). Please don't misconstrue the immediately preceding sentence as a put-down; it's not meant to be. Most of the time here at A2k I'm not serious. I was just playing with you. Confused Uh-oh, I think I just contradicted myself. Oh, well, prolonged sleep deprivation does have that effect. Aw, forget it ... Neutral

Coming from Bill, this does not inspire any confidence in me. I have no reason to assume that he is more sane or trustworthy than are most Christians. Quite the reverse, in fact . . .

The govt does not interfere with religious practices unless that practice interferes with the rights of others.

I want to thank all you folks who keep quoting BllRM. As I've had him on "ignore" for some time now, I would have no idea what idiotic nonsense this individual was posting here if it weren't for some of those quotes. Thnx.

@Setanta,
No, no, Set. I wasn't being ironic or sarcastic. It's nice to read his crap in a context where it's immediately refuted by an actual thinking person. Keep on quoting.
