Last one.
My very favourite song from 1972. (Or was it 1971? )
Still love it, whichever year it was!

@msolga,

When I think of James Taylor, this songs always pops into my head.

It's amazing to see the difference in the looks and the voice quality.

Here's a contemporary, who released this song in 1972--it became her biggest hit. This is a live performance from 1987.

Here's another one that I would sing, (especially after I had had a "few").

@Setanta,
There was always a question about to whom You're So Vain is addressed. Many think that it was Warren Beatty, although there are other guesses. Remembering Warren, it certainly was a good fit!

@Phoenix32890,
She's been very cagey about an answer. Many people thought it referred to Mick Jagger. However, she has given no consistent clues, and no answers at all. She did once say that she had seen Warren Beatty walk into a party wearing an apricot scarf. She has also said it was about men in general, that it was about three men in particular, that it was about no one in particular. I think she enjoys the game.

Here's a Burt Bacharach/Hal David song, written for the artist, giving her a million seller in 1967 . . .

The following year, 1968, the Bacharach/David team gave her a song with a similar sound, which became her third straight number one hit single. I've always loved this song, and many memories of my youth associated with it.

@Phoenix32890,
Now that made me think of this group. Dion passed on the plane ride with Buddy Holly in February, 1959, because he said it was too expensive for him. "$36 seemed like an awful lot of money to me." This song hit number 5 in the U.S. This is from the great tradition of guys harmonizing on the corner.

@mismi,
It is really fascinating how dress has changed over time. If you look at the cop and action movies of the 1950's, the guys may be running around looking for a bad guy, but he wore a suit and tie.

Same thing with performing music. It is only in the 1960's, when men wore their hair longer, that they traded the suit and tie for jeans.
