Certainly grimacing right now... 3 fractured teeth! Dammit ... grrrrrrrrr

I grind my teeth at night (who knew!) and unconsciously during the day I notice I'm doing it too and then suddenly realise my jaw is clenched Shocked Anyhoo - I've been in and out of the dental surgery for the past 12 months now as I'm getting quite a lot of discomfort, been using a bite guard at night on my lower jaw but in the last month since the last repair, have fractured another 2 teeth and pulled the ligaments - it feels like my jaw is shrinking or my teeth are growing - neither of course, is occurring.

However, there' s a problem with my jaw which could be to do with the RA and something's misplaced and creaking, ground down, so I've now been referred to the hospital to see a consultant... ack! and triple ack.

Nasty - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrinding and gritting and grimacing.

Indeed, Iz, indeed!
Teeth and jaw!
Acking in sympathy with you here, you poor ol thing.
You didn't need this!

My G& G for the day.
Had to ring work & cancel this morning. Which I don't feel at all good about.
Yesterday I had a bit of a cold ... runny nose & sore throat ... had some trouble getting through the day, but luckily the children were obliging & cooperative ... phew.
This morning: really sore throat, wobbly on my feet & totally clogged up nose .. & my head is off with the fairies somewhere ....
Back to bed soon, I think.

Take care of yourself there, msolga - sounds like what we used to call "the crud", bummer, but watch it, as crud seems to morph these days. Don't make me send you bad soup by pony express.

and Iz, dear, I'm sending you a plethora of aaaacks, this is so disheartening. I want to send you my magic wand but it's not very functional at the best of times.
So, I'll send you bon bons, my all-around word for treats of your choice, a decor-right pillow to go with your new home fixup, and a nice bottle of your preference to forfend the blues, or just the right cuppa.

@ossobuco,
Thanku Osso - 3 fractured... so your acks are appreciated - really concerned at how to stop grinding my teeth - my back molars are very ground down and my front teeth are sore from the pulled ligaments. There will be a many (4-6 month wait) before I see the consultant... I hope I don't crack any more in the meantime.

Sleep is very bad at the moment - tossing and turning constantly and dreaming, even with taking the potion... ah well, don't know how to change anything.

Oh, well, this too shall pass Razz <or crack> Wink Thank you for your thoughts xxxx

@JPB,
Thanks for your good thoughts, Iz, osso & JPB.
Yep, it sounds like "the crud".
Whatever this honking/coughing/aching throat malady is, it certainly makes you want to sleep a lot!
Is it really already almost 5:30 pm?
Where did Friday go?

Iz, A sleeping tooth grinder? I've been there. Never broke anything. But I know about how it feels. Blech with more tsuris for you.

olga, Sounds to me like you have a cold. (No charge for the diagnosis.) I'd make you some chicken soup, but by the time it got to you, you'd be better and the soup would be bad. Feel better soon.

My next door neighbor is sanding something with an electric sander. My office window is close to where he's working. I feel like I've been sitting in the dentist's chair for the past two hours Evil or Very Mad

Whom, if anyone, can't president Obama order killed at will? What process and what legal framework, if any, determine that? As the New York Times' public editor notes, noone currently knows the answers to these questions, because Obama's administration declared them both to be government secrets. I'd grimace and grit my teeth over this, but I'm too depressed to bother.

it's not earth-shattering
it's not life-distressing

but

I'm supposed to be practicing putting make-up on regularly, so it won't be such a project when it's show time but

I'm hopeless at make-up

hopeless

just layered all the gunk on

one eye looked fine
the other looked ill
the foundation on my lips makes me feel yuck-o

arrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh

I washed it all off and my skin feels better but I'm so not ready for the next gala's make-up requirements

@Izzie,
Izzie, I had the same problem. I would wake up in the middle of the night clenching and I soon realized I was doing it during the day as well. Headaches for years, sore teeth...
I finally went to a chiropractor and viola, I've stopped clenching and the headaches, for the most part have disappeared.
He also noticed that I could not open my jaw fully. It might be something to consider.

@Ceili,
the student show

I'm an intermediate/advanced student

http://www.hannandance.com/images/photos6/Nov2011Galaweb.jpg

shimmying is fine
undulations are fine
dancing in public has become fine
make-up is still tragic

we're supposed to kinda look like drag queens to counter-act the stage lighting - totally not in my comfort zone (or ability)

funnily (not) another dance company is offering a stage make-up workshop the day after our gala

arrrrrrrrghhhhh

@ehBeth,
My sister is doing this as well. Break a leg.. in the nicest possible way.
I'm covered in freckles, so makeup has always looked funny on me. I feel your pain. You might want to check out one of those make-up counters, those women love to cake on the make-up. Just a thought.

@George,
fixed the maul...

today's grimace involved a bird. inside the cabin...

stinky got very excited. then the bird got very excited. I then got kinda worked up, too...

then it got ugly. and not because of stinky, who was surprisingly docile once we got over the shock of the situation.

I opened the front door, and grabbed a broom. (we have had this drill before) but I was unable to find the bird. (here birdie birdie...)

it had become entangled in a fly strip. (yucky) this made capturing the little guy real easy. but made releasing him a bugger...

I finally got him shook free and he ran away. not sure if he will be able to clean the sticky crap off and fly again, or not...

gonna hafta find a different form of fly control. not gonna do that again...
