well, it could be seriously worse

I was waiting at the bus stop this morning with a woman whose house has not had heat since Friday when their furnace completely crapped out - took her four hours on hold on Sunday to get a service call for today!

they went through those -26 celsius days without a working furnace. yikes.

We did that one winter for a couple of weeks. Luckily the forced air is a retro-fit and the original electric baseboards are still in working order. The hydro bills weren't pretty though. (Got home after a long weekend visit with djjd and the inside temperature was 32ºF ! We were lucky the pipes didn't burst.)

bethie, Don't know nuttin' about furnaces, but what you said doesn't sound good. Hoping you get heat very soon.

BTW, you sent me a big furry warm hat. You want me to send it back? It'll keep your head warm.

It looks like I have been a facebook member all this time - I probably clicked on something a few years ago in order to see photos.. My memory is that I didn't sign in right, so it didn't work.

my account posted a spammy message on my friends' walls, rapid-fire style.
i was on as it was happening, so i reset my password, logged out and then back in, and then deleted the messages from my profile page.

the same thing happened to one of my friends a few days ago, so it's possible i got 'infected' from that.
if that's the case, i in turn have prolly 'infected' all my friends...
