telling tales out of school (mostly because I see this thread as friendly so I'm not likely to be accused of being a socialist with communistic tendencies) the thing is on monday past (this is sat) Lady Diane's BP was over 200, she called her doc who told her to take a certain med (because she was a walking stroke time-bomb) which the doc ordered by phone from the Pharm, Lady went to the Pharm but was told they were out of said med but would have it in a few days; Lady basically told me nothing.
BP stayed over 200, Doc had her come back yesterday morning, her BP was 187, Doc told her the pharm being out of the med was NOT acceptable and should have done an emergency location of said med, Doc also added another high-power BP med to the one Lady had not taken. We picked up both meds yesterday (friday) so from monday evening till last nite Lady did not take emergency BP meds and BP remained near 200. Lady said she didn't really take it all that seriously (Doc said her condition was near fatal). Lady tells me I'm just being cranky.
Lady D is a very lucky lady right now. She was a walking stroke/heart attack/embolism/kidney failure time-bomb. The problem with high blood pressure is that you don't feel bad until you've got a catastrophe.
edit: Glad she's got the proper meds now, dys.
And being cranky isn't always a bad thing.

Didn't take it all that seriously??? I almost had a stroke just reading about it. She'd better take this seriously, or I'll give her a zetz she'll know is serious.
I'm glad she finally got the right meds.

diane - My thoughts are with you in this time of crisis. I hope you are getting the proper meds into your system now. A stroke is a real possibilty if you don't get it under control. I know you have heard it all before, but, you will continue to hear it until you get better.
Urgh. She didn't tell me either, and I went to the pharmacy with her, one of the times - I think she went to two, I was near at the second - though not at the same exact minute (one stands away from people at the counter). Kerfluffle and oy. Glad she's got the meds.
