What we are seeing and learning from this election period is that the super rich pay less (%) in taxes than most people who are blue collar workers.
The conservatives continue to advocate for more tax cuts for the rich, while our national debt continues to rise.
Our government(s) fail to take care of business (the tax codes) when it's been obvious that the rich do not pay their "fair share" of their incomes to support the necessary government expenditures for our infrastructure, education, defense, and "gifts" to our allies.
What do you think will change Washington DC to see the error of their ways?
There's an interesting article today by a NYT employee who tells about his higher income in 2011 over 2010, but his tax liability went down! There is everything wrong with our income tax codes.
