The directions state "For the problems that follow be sure to include the null hypothesis, the alternative hypothesis, calculation of the experimental chi square value, the decision rule and the conclusion drawn."

6....Do car crashes occur on different days with the same frequency? A sample of motor vehicle deaths for a recent year in Montana is randomly selected. The numbers of fatalities for the different days of the week are listed in the table that follows. At the 0.05 significance level, test the claim that accidents occur with equal frequency on different days.

Day Sun Mon. Tues Wed Thurs Fri Sat
# of fatalities 31 20 20 22 22 29 36

@mihanni21 ,
First define the weekend--is Friday the weekend or not?

If the week is Monday to Thursday (I would) then find the average and the standard deviation for the weekday and the weekend.

Example (from your data)

M-Th ave =21 SD=1

F/S/Su ave=32 SD= sqrt(14/3)

Set the null hypothesis that they are the same, the alternate is they're different. use the averages and SD to determine if the null hypothesis is true or false.
