Please Help Me!! Started Facebook Page, Major Issues!?!

I recently started a Facebook page to help promote my blog. Nothing seems to be working. Or I am such a noob that I don't know what to do. I can't 'like' other pages. My page name and profile pic did not show up when I tried to leave a comment on a page. I also asked a question on an actual fb forum and had the same results. No name or pic. Looked like an anonymous user. Also, I'd like some advise as to where I am supposed to paste code for adding such plugins as subscribe buttons, share buttons and so forth. Please help me. I'm about to shove a keyboard through the screen. Well not really. It's a laptop...
