Nursing School and Working

I am a junior in my BSN program and unfortunately I am in a position where I have to work, I work in retail. It was recently brought to my attention that there were some open nurse aid positions open at a local hospital and was urged to apply. I am wondering if this will give me an edge in my schooling and if acute care settings in general are willing to be flexible with the schedule of a nursing student?

I recognize that all institutions are a little different, but I'm always looking for advice. Thank you in advance.
