Have a Rainsoft qrs844 that needs rebedding. Am on city water but thinking of adding some filter-ag in with coconut gac to help with small sediment removal. Also would like to make it backwash and from what i read somewhere on this site a fleck 2510 manual should screw right in the tank? Any input on either is greatly appreciated!!

You will be better served by a new filter.
Digital Fleck 2510 on a 10x44 Vortech with 1 cubic foot of Coconut shell GAC.
Set it to back wash every week and rebed it every 36 months.

can you help me with a rainsoft problem. the charcoal filter only gets changed out once a year but this time I witnessed it and it was full of sludge and our water had a oil slick look on top of a cup of water. how big shouldthe filter be for a family of seven and does the resin need replacing of the carbon filter is that bad for very small city water.
