A poster is trying to send me a PM,
I would like to reply. I have received other PM's,
mostly in the beginning. It says I set up to receive PM's.
What do you mean when you say you click on a PM?
And what exactly does it say?
What you described doesn't look like any error messages in the forum code.
Have they sent you the PM? And have you checked your inbox? I don't mean to sound facetious, but if you go to your inbox, and then you navigate elsewhere, it will say that you don't have any messages, unless you get a new message in the interim.
And, are they sending to your absolutely correct name? If they send to janebean (there's no one here with that name), the PM will kick.
Hello jeanbean,
You have received a new private message to your account on "Able2Know.com" and your account is configured so that you will be notified on this event. You can view your new message by clicking on the following link:
This is what I got in my email.
Well, I got your reply so it's working. ;-)
I received all your messages(phoenix and craven),
plus another bunch of messages, which said "you have no messages".
I heard the sound, so I nknew I had emails.
Oh, what stupid thing am I doing wrong?
Jeanbean- Wait a minute. Craven turned the sound off a week ago. It was buggy, and causing problems!
Phoenix,
I mean the sound that indicates I have another email.
Sorry, to confuse you.
jeanbean- Getting used to this site takes a little time. There is a learning curve, so if you stick with it, it will come!
The strange thing is, I received this message about an hour after being invited to an able2know question. It arrived alone, the only message I got from able2know, till tonight.
So, I sent an email to that forum's moderator. This moderator suggested I contact jespah,
Phoenix, craven, etc. to see if they could help.
It's possible that I could confuse the pop-up with the email,
but not the first one I received earlier. Then, there was no pop-up.
But, you are right.
Sticking to it, would help me learn in a hurry.
I am trying to understand the problem here. It sounds to me as if you received 3 separate things:
1) Indications in your mail box that you have a Private Message. For these, yes, you should have a Private Message.
2) A note in your mail box that you're being invited to a particular A2K topic. In that case, you won't get a Private Message; the email is the only notification you're going to be receiving.
3) Regular emails, perhaps about A2K. Again, you won't get a Private Message.
Have I misunderstood what is happening here?
I have been getting notices of a PM in my private e-mail account that I have a PM and when I click on the link in the message it takes me to my own sent box at A2k. I do not get any kind of error message.
