Maths riddle question, please help, best answer?
The Tv supposedly costs 500pounds
A guy wants to buy a tv. The Tv supposedly costs 500pounds so he borrows 250 pounds from one of his friends, 250 from another.
He manages to get the tv for 450, leaving him with 50 pounds, from those 50 he gives 20 pounds return to each of his friends and keeps ten for him self yet he still needs to pay the full amount back in the end , this means he now owes 230 to each. Where did the other 30 pounds go? since the original value was 500 and it all adds up to 470. Please help, im sure its only to do with mixing up negatives and positives, but can someone explain? best answer

@Qlimakz,
The "original value" was fictitious so all calculations using it are irrelevant. He borrows £500 and pays £40 back keeping £10 cash and the TV which cost him £450.
