The only other means of obtaining funding for comic book writing I can think up is through comic book writing competitions. A few years ago, Zuda Comics had such a competition:

Unfortunately that is over.
There has to be other funding available that caters specifically to comic book writers besides the Kickstarter kit and the Xeric Foundation Grant. I would find this rather hard to believe if these two sources are the only ones out there.
I am still looking for funds, funding and grants, awards and fellowships for comic book writers. I did a search on funds for create writers and found this link:
