Rainsoft Gold Programming

A friend gave me a working AQC 50CV Softner and a RFC 150P Y Acid Neutralizer that have not been used for the last two years. Both units were new in 2006 and I have downloaded the owner's manuals. I am capable of hooking this system up, but am looking for some advice. I already know I have an elevated clear water iron level and low PH and will be getting my water tested before installing. Can this system effectivly remove iron? Do I need the Neutralizer and if so, should I replace the media? How can I reprogram the Softener myself? I have searched everywhere and cannot find an installation manual that explains programming the control valve. I discovered the "raindrop" access but need help interperting the settings. Any help is appreciated..........
