I have just set up my Fleck 5600SE softener and ran it through the four cycles.
There is five inches of water above the grid plate. I have not added the salt yet. After adding the salt. Do I have to add additional water to increase the brine level and if so how many gallons?

No Jerry the water level is just fine. Fill the tank with a good brand of salt dura cube, hardi cube, solar salt, give it a couple of manual regenerations and you are good to go.
