I really like a well played guitar, I have a tough time choosing a favorite.

One of my first choices

But then, Steve and friends seem to be having so much fun

And I can't forget

And then there's the acoustic virtuoso

I just can't choose

@wayne,
Sonny would be my first choice - we're lucky to be part of his street team here in Chicagoland. We get to see him four or five times per year (or twelve in 2007) .

but any of these guys would be high on the list.

as would the late, great Gary Moore

and Joe Bonamassa

@JPB,
Great videos!!
I've gotta admit, Sonny consistently hits the mark, I am sooo jealous of you Smile
I've been listening to quite a bit of Bonamassa lately, just love those blues.

@wayne,
I can't forget to include Guthrie, although his stage presence doesn't seem to match his technical skill imo.

@wayne,
Jeff Beck was at both Crossroads festivals in Chicago (2007 and 2010). We enjoyed his sets at both shows.

@Rockhead,
I wasn't even gonna mention the master, seems so unfair for anyone to have to compete with Satchmo.

Here's another worth mentioning

I am a DreamTheater nut, so Petrucci always gets high marks.
All the same, he can sure bring out the emotion at times.

@Finn dAbuzz,
I was just listening to Freeway Jam and Cause We Ended As Lovers. The diversity of styles makes Beck a top 3 resident.

@JPB,
Sonny is a unique talent. Sorta reminds me of Lowell George. The late great.

@panzade,
His versatility puts him at the top of my list. He's never been stuck in one style and although is in his 6o's, remains at the forefront.

He's a much of a virtuoso as anyone playing and probably developed many of the techniques some of the younger guys use. He's not out to impress anyone with pyrotechnics though. Speed for the ski of speed is something is not part of a Beck performance.
