I saw this story a while back, and I am amazed by it. This Indian holy man, who is over 70 years old, says he has not eaten or drunk anything since he was 8, when he was blessed by a goddess. The story is about the physicians who watched him for 10 days and can't explain how he survives.
Does anyone know about this story? Is it a hoax? Could it actually be true?

Sounds like breatharianism, or lightareanism:
"A breatharian is a person mainly nourished by materials finer in vibration, such as light or pranas. This person has activated several organs and bodily functions that are within the dormant potentials in others. Breatharianism is much more than just a lifestyle of little or no eating."

No beer, huh? That's so sad.
Gourmet dinner? No major physical activity? No wife and kids?
Do holy men play basketball, struggle with art, or enjoy a good fight?
Thin as a breath and twice as light --
I'd rather be human, while I still have the chance. (But to each their own).
Watching with curiosity - seems like some sort of hoax IMO
Against the laws of nature and energy.
Twyvel, I looked at that site, and I gotta tell ya, it looked pretty hokey to me. It makes me lean towards it being a hoax. But this article I read was from the BBC, which I always thought was a pretty reputable and reliable source.
kickycan
Yes it's mysterious, and there are many other sites. I also remember reading about people who never sleep.
Well we don't know all the energies or whatever that affect these bodies that appear to be identified with, do we?
Twyvel,
I always say that anything is possible, but it is another thing when you are faced with something like this, that seemingly defies all reason. Do you believe that these things are real?
I was hoping for some scientific proof or something that reveals it as a hoax, but I guess nobody on this site can supply that kind of information. it's really interesting though, isn't it.
Yeah, that is pretty weird. Also pretty disgusting. I once found a piece of burned gristle on a chicken breast I was eating that looked like that thing. Yeech! That story's over a year old though. I wonder what the DNA test found, or if they even did one?
