I am writer doing research on gunshot wounds to the chest. I have a fifteen year old character that has been shot in the lower left chest, away from the mid-line but still with the rib cage. Hits and peirces the lung. He was shot by a 9mm bullet that went straight through the body ( I guess that you would call that an exit wound). The teen is in good, perfect condition before the injury. How long will the surgery take to perform? What will be done durning the surgery? After the surgery, how long will the recovery and hospital stay be? During the hospital stay or afterwards, will the fifteen year old have any type of rehab? Physical or Occupational?
