Or - some of us don't like to use emoticons very often, but have picked up this kind of shorthand. <.......> with some word or words in between is or used to be a way of saying what you are feeling without an emoticon.

I take Pep as bright but not often with us, though wanting to be. I like him. I suspect he is kind, but of course I don't know.

He gets aced out for a zillion nonreadable posts and sent into a rest phase, but still wants to be here. He's not always unintelligible and when he is, I can get him sometimes.

I've no idea of the process - do you go off in smoke every once in a while and then think of a2k?

Do you type into a2k when you are most straight?
