Longest/Heaviest Snake in the world captured

This is amazing. A python nearly 50 ft long and almost 990lbs (its girth is almost 2.8ft) has been captured and confirmed.

According to The Guinness Book of World Records the previous longest ever captured snake was 32 feet long. The heaviest a Burmese Python kept in Gurnee, Ill. weighs 402 pounds.

This new snake is almost twice as long, and over twice as heavy. That's HUGE! I can hardly imagine it.

Really interesting story though, my first guess would have been Anaconda but, yeah okay Reticulated Pythono goes a long long way I suppose, and we now have proof even!
