@tsarstepan,
I love that erhu - great stuff.

Another cool soundtrack was Baraka - although I've only just read that the director was the cinematographer on Koyanisqaatsi - I guess I should have realised....

Hingehead noted the great composer of film scores, Ennio Morricone. Here's a favorite of mine - Once Upon a Time in America.

@Rockhead,
Did I exceed my limit? Those were the first ones I could think of. I'm sure there are others that I left out.

@joefromchicago,

OK, this wasn't a movie, but my son and I loved it so much, as had his dad, that we chose it for the music at my husband's funeral service.

@joefromchicago,
That wonderful Third Man music just reminded me of another b&w classic, Joe.
Zorba the Greek.

Loved the film, loved the music!

Terrific scene here, as Zorba (Anthony Quinn) teaches his very up-tight, totally zipped-up, unspontaneous English friend (Alan Bates) how to dance. In the Greek way!
Wonderful, joyous scene. Smile

Someone has to mention Ennio Morricone!

I mentioned the similarity of Morricone and Wagner themes once:

Arthur Bliss's score for Things to Come is by far the best thing about that movie:

I'd say the same thing about Vangelis's score for Chariots of Fire, except that I got so sick of hearing it back in the early 80s:
