I was just watching a video that described Portland that way. I think it's pretty accurate.

What's the best/funniest/saddest/whateverist thing anyone ever said about your city or state?

Columbus is "Cow Town" evidently.

I don't mind that much!

I love the farm right in the middle of the city (near OSU). It's pretty sizable. Got cows and everything.

There's a farm southwest of town, a part of the municipal park system (at least they used to have one). Check it out online.

I always saw the "cow town" stuff as coming from a bunch of whiners who were pissed that Columbus is not New York.

Sarasota FL is called 'God's Waiting Room' due to its concentration of retired and mature citizenry.

It's also called 'Paradise' due to it's higher percentage of available sunshine along with having predominantly good weather year 'round.

What does that even mean?

It's a hippie commune?

Or that it has a bunch of young (presumably tech-industry) millionaires?
