I have been wondering whether the three puns on "puce (shock and trepidation), "phew!" (compliment to the bridegroom), and that word we must not write despite it being appropriate to the setting might have distracted my esteemed fellow and fellowess gameplayers from realising that the image is one of Chritian piety and innocence.

As contrasted with the modern bridal suite where the bride doesn't bat an eyelid and the expensive fitments are merely there to provide a vague semblance of the sanctity of marriage and render the happy couple as skint as the hotel management can get them.
