						According to Facebook, there are now in excess of 25,400,000 Farmville players out there now.  They are being somewhat disingenuous, though, because a certain number of those are people who signed up, but have also given up.  I'd say about 15% of my neighbors are not active participants.  Still, that's an impressive number.  They claim it is the "biggest" online game going.

												It's an interesting social phenomenon.  Been reading about it on some of the computer forums.

												I played farm town and several other applications for a time, but they are far too time consuming for me. Plus the software failures are frustrating. These days, I ignore any and all requests.
											
					
				 
																									
						
														
					
												I've never played farmville. I had a bunch of friends and family that did, I got all the requests, but either I've craftily turned them all off or they've all given up playing.

Yes, it can be time-consuming, but you can also determine a level of involvement to govern that.
