I've always had a thing for Burkina Faso, with Chad coming in a close second. Burkina Faso is just a really cool name and the people are quite talented at constructing mud huts and have exceptional dance moves.
As far as Chad goes: Any country that calls itself Chad has got to have a sense of humor.
Kudos to them
Kenya...Olduvai Gorge, etc....
Until now I've never heard of the nation of Other (you'd better have a damn good reason). It must be a new republic. Not the news magazine, you understand, but the noun-with-modifying-adjective-combination. Plucky sounding name, that. I fully expect that the inhabitants are full of belief in themselves and are inclined to look askance at the fumbling but well-meaning gestures of such global economic and military powers as Plobo Wonderland Mark II and Other (we don't care what you're stupid reason is because your hygienic practices bear no resemblance to our own and, what's more, we don't even know much about our own country so what makes you think we have the time or energy to learn about yours?).
I understand that Albanian Prime Minister Bufi is currently pursuing diplomatic relations with Chad.
Step away from the idiot box, cav. (Not a joke about the bush twins and their annual checkup, mind you...)
I'd have to say Kenya too. Not only does it have the rift system, but it has wonderful wildlife (what's left of it).
patiodog, my semi-serious, erudite friend, look at my suit. I refuse to step away from the idiot box, especially if it's drunk and Paris Hilton.
I've seen the video..definite AVN award for best new actress!
I voted for the Seychelles, cause there's more of 'em.
I like Liberia for sentimental reasons despite its difficulties (my niece's mother is from there),
Mali because I met a couple from Mali in Florence who told me I should come visit Mali,
Egypt because of its layered history - I'd like to go there;
then there was a gracious lab tech from Camaroon, I wonder if she went back... and
then, Eritrea, where an old lab friend is from. His brothers and sisters had not gone through elementary school much less university as he had because they were fighting in the liberation movement, forget the initials of it. Anyway, through him we got to know several other eritreans and ethiopians who socialized in Los Angeles despite differences at home..
Of these, I guess I'd say Eritrea, because I got to know more people from there fairly early, which made it not foreign, but the home of friends.
Ah - a serious answer, finally.
Only African countries I've beento are Zimbabwe and Botswana. I liked it there a lot.
Never been to the Africa, so my opinion is skewed, but I'm really liking the music of Mali these days...
I like Malawi. More syllables.
No, if its syllables you go for, you should look at Madagascar, and especially its capital: Antananarivo ;-)
Nigeria - because I always feel like a king whenever I go there - armed body guards, police escorts etc etc
