I have an AMC75T unit. My owner's manual does not tell or show which way the bypass valves should be turned for normal operation. Should the valve knobs be at 9 &3 o'clock or 12 &6 o'clock when viewing from the the inlet and outlet
pipe side for normal operation?
thanx

@captainron37,

I know nothing about water softeners, but, if it is like most plumbing standards, the markings on the valve should correspond with the direction the flapper is facing inside the valve.

If the markings are parallel with the pipe that the valve stem is attached to, the flow is open. If they are horizontal to the pipe, the flow is closed.
