@squinney,
I envy you that freedom.

Unfortunately, I am addicted to my twice-monthly moolah fix.

@George,
Oh, me too. I did get a nice going away present that has been helpful in that way.

Not really a new buzzword, but still a funny one: enterTRAINment. I found #1 a bit tiring past 20 seconds. Be sure to check out the others.

I had to find this again - our newest stated by all those high up "deeper dive".

If I hear this one more time I am going to scream!

OMG (that seems to be my new thing...omg)

We went through that a while back.

Deeper Dive = We haven't squeezed every last penny out of your budget and at the same time expected you to perform up to peak performance. So, we demand you self examine every bit of minutae and report back to us.

I forgot about this thread.

I have a new recruiter for management postions that is driving me absolutely BONKERS with her blather and buzzwords.

I'll find some of emails when I get a moment, and entertain you with them.

Oh, btw,

I remember for a while we would here from the uppy ups about their need to have "fierce conversations"

then, just as quickly, that buzzword went away.

I couple of weeks ago, there was a RuPaul Drag Race marathon on TV, and the Drag Queens biggest compliment about someone was saying "She's FIERCE!"

I guess that explains why that went away.

@chai2,
I am from three work worlds (and I suppose people think from outer space sometimes too). Anyway, I worked as a lab tech/researcher for 15 years, in landscape architecture for twenty five, and had two art galleries and was involved some in the art world during all that time. So, man, have I been exposed to jargon?

Actually, not that much, since I never worked what you would call corporate, though one firm was a small one (seven people including the boss).

When I did run into jargon - I remember specifically a short set of classes we had on communication skills for designers - I wanted to throttle the teacher with, oh, let's say a dead eel.

Our landarch contracts were always in plain words, while we had legal rep on the text. Conversations with clients, always regular words.

@chai2,
During meetings I will write these things down and make funny faces around them. I do need to watch out who is sitting within viewing distance. I have also noted how many times some one says a particular buzz word with little tic marks. Then I start snickering under my breathe - I think I will lose it one day.

@Linkat,
Careful, kid. There is a lot of emotional attachment to those little jewels.
