Can anyone fathom out the logic here?

If 5 = 4 and 6 = 9 and 7 = 5 then what does 12 equate to in the same context?

Are you sure it isn't 6=3?

Because if it was the answer would be the number of letters it takes to spell the number so 12 = 6.

5=4, 6=9, 7=5, 8=13, 9=4, 10=13, 11=6, 12=18

Also it could follow -1 +3 -2 +4 and so on so 12 would be +6 which = 18
