MINERAL

1) smaller than a breadbox
2) not made of plastic
3) small enough to hold in your hand, but it's too big to hide in your fist
4) partly made of metal, but mostly made of something else
5) the "something else" from #4 is not a natural mineral; it is man-made substance
6) Office Depot sells them on their website
7) Needs electricity or batteries to run (usually electricity)
8) It only makes a sound when it breaks...

not an electric pencil sharpener
not a remote control
not a ring or earring, not jewelry
