I've met a lot of interesting people during my life. I will have to think about an answer for a while because there are so many.

While I'm thinking, tell me who is the most interesting person you've ever met.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
I've decided that Michael Harrington is my choice. I got to know him quite well in the 1970s. I admired his dedication to improve the lives of the working classes. He listened as well as talking, which is unusual in some people. He was both a realist and a dreamer for the future. I learned so much from him. He was a really nice guy.

Michael Harrington

During Michael Harrington's four decades as America's leading socialist thinker, writer and speaker, he contributed to every progressive movement. One of the first of his twenty books, The Other America, is credited with spurring the Great Society anti-poverty programs. From his organizing with the student and civil rights movements in the 50's and 60's, to his leadership of the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee (DSOC) and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) in the 70's and 80's, he consistently urged socialists to reach beyond isolation and build coalitions with labor and progressive groups in day-to-day struggles. As DSOC and DSA's representative to the Socialist International, he earned the respect, and the ear, of socialist leaders throughout the world. His death in 1989 did nothing to silence his thundering denunciation of injustice, for his voice lives on through us.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
that crusty old cowboy that lives near you would have to be in my top five...

(interesting is a very broad word, btw)

@Rockhead,
I said "interesting" because I wanted the widest choice possible.

Everybody. There has been no most interesting person they're all interesting way their own, I never rated them. The clerk at Rite-Aid, the child with a skateboard, the actor, the park attendant, the homeless lady, the physical rehab. therapists, the cop, the drug dealer, the dancer and others plenty are all of interest. Yeah, everybody met has been the most interesting even if for that time alone.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
The first person that came to my mind was my husband's grandmother. She was number one in her graduating class. She was self sufficient in a time when women got married and pumped out kids. She was divorced (unheard of during those days) and a single mom. From what I gathered her ex was abusive so made sense.

She raised her daughter and had a successful career. She did remarry...she traveled extensively. Even as she grew older she was extremely active and smart as could be. At the same time she was very caring.

Just someone that I could listen to her stories and be amazed at the things and places she was visited.
