What is your routine for taking a shower?

The biggest change of routine for me now is to have a shower safety chair. I replaced the shower fixture to one that hangs down so I can spray the crude off of me. My doggies Dolly and Madison like to watch me in the shower and then to lick my wet legs when I get out to see if I got myself clean. Silly doggies.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
The first thing I do is check the calendar to verify that it's the first day of the month.

start off with warm water, gradually increase to hot, end with cool water

soap up and rinse all the relevant bits while the above action is proceeding

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
you got an oil well out back, BBB?

I put a pot of water on to boil, and grab a clean towel.

when it's just the right temp, I set it on a not so clean towel at the edge of the tub, and ladle away till I'm clean.

On really hot days I just do a cold one, but the tower has to get good and warm first...

@jjorge,
Once a season, I check my closet for whatever remaining object I can make a sacrifice to the rain gods. I then start up my rain dance.

If the rain god's are pleased with my burn offering and dance then it rains.

Once it starts raining, I strip neekid and run out with a bar of Lush's Rock Star soap, a bottle of Prell 2 in 1 shampoo and I get all cleaned up (hoping I have enough rain to rinse all of the suds.

If no rain comes after my rain dance and sacrifice I then wait for the next season.

tsarstepan, for some strange reason, I tend to believe you are telling me the truth.

I wash with dissolved Boraxo 20 Mule Team product when I shower. Except for that, I do it pretty much the way most people do it.

@jjorge,
Ha, jjorge! Very Happy

My routine is to throw off my clothes, then jump into the shower & scrub away!
I used to enjoy long, relaxing baths now & then, before extreme drought conditions meant cutting them out altogether, to save water. Sadly it's only about getting myself clean these days, no indulgences allowed. I confess I've had great difficulty in keeping to the recommended 3 minute shower. It always felt like I was performing in some Olympic event, trying to create a new world record! Laughing

I try to keep the shower on the cool side, because hot showers dry your skin more; they wash off the natural oils. I try to take a shower every other day. I apply lotion after every shower - sometimes I take two showers when I work outside. Most often, my showers are taken before I go to sleep.

I take long showers (25-30 min.) every 2-3 days. Face cleanser first, then body wash, then 2 shampoos. Then pumice stone on heels if they need it.

Days in between, I just hit the high spots with soap...5 minutes, max.

Honestly, I have dry skin and I don't get very dirty. I almost never sweat. Hubby, on the other hand, often needs two showers a day. Funny how different people can be.

@Eva,
Both our sons take 30-minute showers. Mine is about 10-15mins.

Typically, I stumble out of bed with one eye slightly cracked to attempt to adjust my brain to the horribly bright light. I then proceed to stub an errant toe or smash my shin on stuff that jumps out in front of me. Then I step on the cold ceramic tile, hop across it and bang my knee on the edge of the bath. I usually turn the tap on full blast and then step into the scalding water which I quickly, not too gracefully, get the least amount of body mass to squeeze past the angry downpour and adjust the water temp. Then the normally rigamarole of standing in the hot water till I feel semi-human, where I will then do the normal cleansing routine for about 10 ish minutes. Then I get out, normally slip on the stupid tile floor, whereby I again smash something on the toilet, generally the same bruised knee or shin. Happy? Hardly. I hate mornings. I don't drink coffee. Maybe I should start.

I'm puzzled. No one has admitted they sing in the shower. Are there any shower warblers out there?

Does anyone shave their legs, chins, and other body hair, in the shower?

Well EVERYONE knows it won't rain if you shake your booty like an old grannie! Of course one breaks into a downpour of sweat in order to get a downpour of rain for one's seasonal shower! Surprised

@edgarblythe,
Let's all take a vote: should Edgar resume singing in the shower?

I vote YES!
