"The Picture Show" article at NPR

Someone linked this at Facebook. I found it amusing. Note the picture of the boys at the beginning of the article. They are described as "U.S. sharpshooters." There was a regiment sized formation in the Army of the Potomac known as Berdan's Sharpshooters who wore green uniforms. In the video clip, note the Lee impersonator. I don't think he necessarily looks a lot like Lee, but the uniform is perfect, right down to the detail that he is wearing the rank insignia of a colonel. Now, either some of these jokers are coming over the the U.S. to buy realistic gear, or someone is making a mint importing it there.

Did you ever hear that tale how a soldier in the civil war got shot in the balls, the bullet passed through the left nut, carrying with it a load of sperm?

The bullet then hit a fair maiden right in the uterus, and guess what happened??!!

Yep, another virgin birth.

Mythbusters busted that myth... albeit it was obvious from the beggining it was impossible for sperm to survive that kind of shock. Funny how they test first, and ask someone from the field who will reply "absolutely impossible" later =)
