I have never said that Defamation is good I have said that in this case the complainer can not show damages, and I challenge you to find a single quote from me that shows that I care about race. What pisses me of about Sherrod is that she is a professional victim, and that this lame ass power play still works all to often. I am an advocate for dismantling the victim culture, this is just one more place where we see the damage that it does. In Sherrod we now have a capable person who refuses to do productive work who instead spends all of her time trying to get others to see themselves as victims, and she wants to support herself with a handout (a shake down actually). ..though I think the record reflects that she is always eager to take a handout (Pigford), and that she has claimed to be emotionally damaged before (pigford, through which she and her husband got over $300K for emotional suffering)

We are not a wealthy country anymore, this foolishness needs to end.

I also specifically said that selling the victim culture as she is doing is not productive work, is not good for the collective. She is getting a payday, but I would like to see her doing something useful, like being a bureaucrat.

dont be sorry, I am a self described socialist....I believe in individual effort being organized through the institution of government. What I have a problem with is our current situation where the government dictates and individuals are left purposefully weak and not fully formed and not in control of the government apparatus.. Being a bureaucrat is a high value profession.

don't you see the problem with your mantra? The bureaucrats are the ones leaving individuals not fully formed.
Having grown up in Wash DC I've seen how bureaus cement their position; it's almost impossible to trim surplus jobs in the govt.

I agree to a point...I recently spent a couple of years working for the state of Washington at the capital complex and another office complex and I do see a culture that troubles me some. Republicans who claim that bureaucrats are fat happy and lazy are slightly correct.

Actually, I don't see Black Americans leaving progressivism or the Democratic party (note the use of the word "or" which means the two direct objects are not the same thing).

In reviewing essays for my 101 students to read, I do not look at the introductions that provide a short bio. I want to take the writing on its own merits. There was a piece by a very angry Black man in the anthology I chose. Wow! I noted on his second page. THis is an angry, conservative man. So, I turned to the intro. WHile he is a man of accomplishment -- an Emmy for a documentary, a tenured position, a National Book Award -- he remains an emotional 16 year old.

I didn't mind his right wing position but I did mind his anger. Were I teaching sociology or African-American history or political science, I would have used his writing. I could not use it in an English class.
