I'm into Patty Griffin's "Flaming Red" album. The lyrics are brilliant, the melodies are brilliant, the musicianship (for the style) is brilliant. I think she's, um...brilliant!

I also like Lucinda Williams, song "Blue". I find her lyrics mostly inspired. Strange, monotone, but inspired. I have learned to play it on guitar, but haltingly and with my tongue out.

Rickie Lee Jones is also a favourite.

Oh Doglover, what does 'apropo' actually mean?

I think Doglover meant apropos which is French for appropriate(sp) or relevant. Now don't bite me DL! Down girl , I was just making a correction...wasn't being smug.

I seem to remember Edith Piaf singing that song. I wonder if it's the same one.

O'Malley's Bar by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

I think this song gets overlooked and people jump for Stagger Lee, but I just love the groove of this song. I love that it's first person. Pretty vicious too.

Three quarters of the atrists passing the revue here mean nothing to me.

Currently, I'm listening to Whitney houston. Before that, 1492 by Vangelis

"Cheryl Crow is chasing Lance Armstrong all over France" is apropos of nothing. It's not relevant to anything we've discussed. My guess.

I'm listening to "Glow worm" by the Mills Bros. So there C. I.! Embarrassed
