'Getting Away With Murder' by Papa Roach...which is very apropro right about now.
F(R)IEND is a damn good song i hear on DMX 413 regularly.
Along with Duality from Slipknot
Fear Not of Man - Mos Def
I'm into Patty Griffin's "Flaming Red" album. The lyrics are brilliant, the melodies are brilliant, the musicianship (for the style) is brilliant. I think she's, um...brilliant!

I also like Lucinda Williams, song "Blue". I find her lyrics mostly inspired. Strange, monotone, but inspired. I have learned to play it on guitar, but haltingly and with my tongue out.
Rickie Lee Jones is also a favourite.
Oh Doglover, what does 'apropo' actually mean?

20 eyes by Misfits off of evilive. It's an entirely different way to listen to the band. If only I had been there. Oh well.
I think Doglover meant apropos which is French for appropriate(sp) or relevant. Now don't bite me DL! Down girl , I was just making a correction...wasn't being smug.
'Somebody Told Me' by The Killers
Je Ne M'En Souviens Pas - Better than Ezra
I seem to remember Edith Piaf singing that song. I wonder if it's the same one.
right now listening to some "bone-rattling" opera. picked up a 3 cd-set of verdi operas in berlin last year; so i have the stereo cranked up ! went to see and HEAR two operas when in berlin - nothing like a live performance. hbg
O'Malley's Bar by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
I think this song gets overlooked and people jump for Stagger Lee, but I just love the groove of this song. I love that it's first person. Pretty vicious too.
Sugarcoat. Maybe B Tribe next.
Three quarters of the atrists passing the revue here mean nothing to me.
Currently, I'm listening to Whitney houston. Before that, 1492 by Vangelis
That Particular Time-Alanis Morrisette

"Cheryl Crow is chasing Lance Armstrong all over France" is apropos of nothing. It's not relevant to anything we've discussed. My guess.
I'm listening to "Glow worm" by the Mills Bros. So there C. I.!
