Sergei Istomin - solo cello.

I'm looking forward to attending another live performance of his within a couple of weeks. Distinctive, not too muscular sound.

Presently I'm listening to students in computer lab who should be working on their assignment but are watching "stupid videos" from a website by the same name- plenty of raunchy bodily function sound effects, etc. Talk about stupid! Rolling Eyes

Howdy to everyone who missed me... I'm still around. Just spending more time in the "real world" these days. Trying to find a job IS a full time job, no? Oh, and still drinking my share of the cactus juice ;^}

Party on Y'all,

Jose

Honkin on Bobo - Aerosmith's take on the blues

Craveman - Ted Nugent at his smokin' best.

If you don't believe me, open up Windows Media Player and search on "Ted Nugent Crave". Check it out.

Tangle Eye is a remix of old recordings done by Alan Lomax. Instruments are added to the old songs, keeping the original in the recording. The result is astounding.

Some blues purists might take exception, but give it a try--it was done with such integrity and respect, that I believe the original performers would have been thrilled.

Here is a link to a very good article.

I'm not a gigantic fan of that type of music, but I got great general admission seats, and I figured what the hell. I'm glad I did though. They were great.

I've been trying to make a point to listen to it for the last week or so. Some of it is very good, some is, well, interesting. Why can't we call it poetry anymore?
