Renowned for her searing slide guitar work and gutsy vocals, Ellen McIlwaine continues to expand the boundaries of blues with elements of East Indian and North African influences. In Hour Two, an interview with acoustic blues artist Ernie Hawkins. In the 1960s, he learned ragtime guitar from Reverend Gary Davis, and performed with bluesmen such as Mance Lipscomb, Robert Pete Williams and Fred McDowell.
