I hope things worked out for you Panzade.
I saw that Steve Forbert was playing in a small venue in Bristol and thought about going, but am tired and feeling lazy- and even sort of wanted to just remember him as he was the last time I saw him - so I'm just listening to him and watching on youtube and I found this kid's skateboarding demo video which I love- I also love the fact that he put it to this song
Forbert got dicked when he was compared to a young Dylan. I enjoyed this song which he dedicated to Flo Ballard, the Supreme who died in dire straits...
thanks for caring aidan, I was lucky. The cataract operations were a success and now I have 20/20 vision, tho I have to use reading glasses...
That's a good one by him- I like the way he does exuberance and poignance and everything in between. Yeah - the Dylan comparison - probably because he' s good lyricist with a raspy voice. I don't have him on cd- only vinyl, so I haven't listened to him in a while, and I forgot how much I like him.
Listening to JD Souther - and thinking about Betsy - who would have sang this song and said these words:
'though my soul may set in darkness - it will rise in perfect light- I have loved the stars too fondly- to be fearful of the night (Sarah Williams)
