"A Golden Hour of Maria Callas in Concert."
Her voice never ceases to amaze me. I get chills.
Paco de Lucia - playing Concerto de Aranjuez
the news and radio documentaries
again
always
barely ever anything else
Just moved from Paco de Lucia to Pepe Romero, playing Albeniz.
Must be a Spanish guitar sort of morning
Leaving for the opera in about 10 minutes - Medee by Charpentier. First North American production. One of only two performances - it should be astonishing. Regrettably, I am NOT in the mood to change out of my overalls and kickers.
Right now, I'm listening to Robert Merrill and Jussi Bjoerling singing Au fond du temple saint from The Pearl Fishers. It is so beautiful. It's on a CD of Jussi Bjoerling duets with Merrill, Zinka Milanov, Licia Albanese and Renata Tebaldi (she's my favorite). I was fortunate enough to have seen Renata Tebaldi perform Madame Butterfly here in Pa. while it was being telecast on Public Broadcasting. What a thrill!
Maria Callas is one of my favorites too MA
RaggedyA
That must be just the best (and best-known) version
Just got in from my Sunday karaoke show so I have been listening to all sorts of music tonight, but only in the broadest and most kindly terms

Needed something different this morning so I popped in my "Sopranos" soundtrack CD.. R.L. Burnside's "It's Bad You Know" is on right now...
Since I have the day off I am going to try to start separate threads for the different types of music that has already been discussed here. My hope is that people will provide links to their favorite music sites or to specific songs/lyrics/pieces there. We need to get this joint jammin'!
I'm listening to the haunting jazz harmonica of Toots Thielman. Next cd is In a Silent Way, by Miles Davis.
Sidewinder - Lee Morgan
Thanks to Hebba for recommending this to me on the realm, I love it.
Very happy you´re still enjoying it Craven.I hope that Dolphin Dance is still as lovely as it is for me.
Just heard one of ol' Johnny Brahms Hungarian Rhapsodies (don't remember the number, but it's the one they used in cartoons quite often in the 30's & 40's)--although now, i'm listening to the traffic report . . .
So how´s the traffic today?
Little late in responding here, Hebba, sorry about that . . .
i don't give a damn about the traffic--i work in the town i live in, and drive the back streets every day. I laugh (ha ha) at the fools stuck in the expressway nightmares . . .
Jeez, that must have been my evil alter-ego wrote that, i would never be so uncaring, so insensitive . . .
stuff it clown, nobody's buyin' that crap . . .
