Yes, he did. They said it in the DVD I watched.

In case you don't know, he also wrote the lyrics of "My Way" for Sinatra based on the music of a French singer/composer, as well as the lyrics (I don't know about the music) of "I Am Not Anyone" for Sammy Davis Jr. This last song is just incredible, I really like it. He also wrote the lyrics of "She's A Lady" for Tom Jones, another favorite of mine.

didja know reggae's great for practicing bellydancing? slow it down and wind it up Very Happy

You have no idea how impressed I am that you are still belly dancing! I did the 12 week community class deal a couple of years ago, with a girlfriend who has exceedingly large breasts which kept getting in her way (shoulders back -- bring them forward! AHHhhh. Back, forward, back, forward). The two of us were about the most uncoordinated pair you'd ever witness and after straining a hip (why yet another belly dancing injury), I packed it in.

I still covet one of those little coin wrap thingys many of the students flouted.

I never laughed so much!

Following your stories with glee, beth, and imagining belly dancing to reggae.

Joe (can't raise her hip without lifting her leg) blow.

The Band- The Gold Collection
I found this yesterday in the sale bin for 3.99 (pounds= about 8 bucks)
If you like the Band-it's a great eclectic collection of a mixture of their well-known stuff and some of their lesser known but great songs. I'd forgotten all about this one:

The River Hymn
(Robbie Robertson)

The ladies would put the baskets on the table
And the men would sit beneath a shady tree
The children would listen to a fable
While something else came through to me
The river got no end, just roll around the bend
Then pretty soon the women would all join in
On the river hymn...

The whole congregation was standing on the banks of the river
We are gathered here to give a little thanks thanks

The voice of the rapids will echo
And ricochet like an old water well
Who d ever want to let go
Once you sit beneath its spell
It's dark and wide and deep, towards the sea it creeps
I'm so glad I brought along my mandolin
To play the river hymn...

You can ride on it or drink it
Poison it or dam it
Fish in it and wash in it
Swim in it and you can die in it

Run, you river, run

You ain't never seen yourself
No crystal mirror can show it clear,
come over here instead
You ain't never eased yourself
Til you laid it down in a river bed
If you hear a lonesome drone, it's as common as a stone
And gets louder as the day grows dim
That's the river hymn...

The whole congregation was standing on the banks of the river
We are gathered here to give a little thanks thanks

Lately it's been a whole lot of KT Tunstall. My company's sponsoring her national tour and we've been playing it at work to kinda' get customers to make the connection.

speaking of the man in black...listening to Patty Loveless and Travis Tritt do a duet on "I Walk The Line". It's as slow as a funeral dirge...but very effective.

I'm listening to "The Phantom of the Opera" by Andrew Lloyd Webber. More specifically, "Think of Me." This music always relaxes me.
