hingehead - I had to ask.

Thief - Is the new Neko Case as country as her earlier stuff?

Yes, She is still doing the country stuff but the disc
has a bigger sixties pop feel to it. Some reviews
have compaired her to Etta James. I guess it the power with which she sings. I think I like her so
much because unlike most of the new female
singers out now she isn't afraid to sound different.
Another woman I like is Jenny Lewis, Her new disc
is very good.

I love Neko's voice, too. I love her work with The New Pornographers but haven't warmed up to her solo stuff. I probably need to listen to it some more.

Grosse Fuge, Op.133, Beethoven's string quartet. Takacs Quartet. A magical performance of a miraculous composition.

Hearing other people's voices in the music they're playing...

Dont say you want me
Dont say you need me
Dont say you love me
Its understood

Dont say you're happy
Out there without me
I know you cant be
Cause its no good
