I thought my subtle paraphrase would allow us to bond in our mutual admiration of their talents.
I've actually seen them before they were huge. Except that back then (late 1980s) they were a sort of punk pop band called the Cockroaches - I even bought their one hit wonder single 'She's the one'.
They had all previous trained as kindy teachers or something so when the pop careers floundered they blended two interests and took the weeny bopper world by storm.
Now I'm listening to hits from the vault - mostly one hit wonders.
