An incredibly bizarre song from the 80's called "Babooshka" by Kate Bush....never heard it before. This is a new 80's internet radio station i am trying out today. Hm.

Babooshka
Kate Bush

She wanted to test her husband.
She knew exactly what to do:
A pseudonym to fool him.
She couldn't have made a worse move.

She sent him scented letters,
And he received them with a strange delight.
Just like his wife
But how she was before the tears,
And how she was before the years flew by,
And how she was when she was beautiful.
She signed the letter

"All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!
All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!"

She wanted to take it further,
So she arranged a place to go,
To see if he
Would fall for her incognito.
And when he laid eyes on her,
He got the feeling they had met before.
Uncanny how she
Reminds him of his little lady,
Capacity to give him all he needs,
Just like his wife before she freezed on him,
Just like his wife when she was beautiful.
He shouted out, "I'm

All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!
All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!
All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!"

Dont mean to brag dont mean to boast
Baby I'm a roller
Hos and money's all I know
Definition of a roller, roller ...

The Clipse. Not actually listening to it now except in my head - played it before I left home.

Except then I got all stuck up, walking here, on what the plural of a ho is - hos? hoes? Hoes as in, you know - the same as what the plural'd be of that farming tool thing?

Dont mean to brag dont mean to boast
Honey I'm a sower
Hoes and money's all I know
Definition of a sower, sower...

Style Council ~ My Ever Changing Moods

Daylight turns to moonlight - and I'm at my best
Praising the way it all works - gazing upon the rest
The cool before the warm
The calm after the storm
I wish to stay forever - letting this be my food
But I'm caught up in a whirlwind and my ever changing moods
Bitter turns to sugar - some call a passive tune
But the day things turn sweet - for me won't be too soon
The hush before the silence
The winds after the blast
I wish we'd move together - this time the bosses sued
But we're caught up in the wilderness and an ever changing mood
Teardrops turn to children - who've never had the time
To commit the sins they pay for through - another's evil mind
The love after the hate
The love we leave too late
I wish we'd wake up one day - an' everyone feel moved
But we're caught up in the dailies and an ever changing mood

Evil turns to statues - and masses form a line
But I know which way I'd run to if the choice was mine
The past is knowledge - the present our mistake
And the future we always leave too late
I wish we'd come to our senses and see there is no truth
In those who promote the confusion for this ever changing mood

ohhhh, I loved Babushka by Kate Bush. I've still got it on vinyl somewhere in the house.

Quote:
Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight people

Journey

I'm listening to Suffer The Children by Tears For Fears from their first album The Hurting...

"When all this time he's been getting you down
You ought him up when there's no one around
and convince him
ohhhh just talk to him
Cause knows in his heart, you won't be home soon
and he's an only child in an only room
And he's dependant on you
oh he's dependant on you."

I remember when Sam Bush and New Grass Revival put out their first album. We darned near learned every song off that album.

We used to kid "Flux"(Jerry Douglas) because he always took off his wedding ring before he played.

A beautiful, sunny afternoon here. All the windows & doors open to let in the fresh air after a few sweltering, sticky days. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Very Happy
For some reason I've been playing music I haven't played for years this afternoon. Listening to Elvis's SPIKE right now.
Current track:

wish you'd known me when I was alive, I was a funny feller
The crowd would hoot and holler for more
I wore a drunk's red nose for applause
Oh yes I was a comical priest
With a joke for the flock and a hand up your fleece
Drooling the drink and the lipstick and greasepaint
Down the cardboard front of my dirty dog-collar

Chorus:

Now I'm dead, now I'm dead, now I'm dead,
now I'm dead, now I'm dead
And I'm going on to meet my reward
I was scared, I was scared, I was scared, I was scared
He might of never heard God's Comic

So there he was on a water-bed
Drinking a cola of a mystery brand
Reading an airport novelette, listening to Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Requiem
He said, before it had really begun, I prefer the one about my son
I've been wading through all this unbelievable
junk and wondering if I should have given
the world to the monkeys

Chorus

I'm going to take a little trip down Paradise's endless shores
They say that travel broadens the mind, 'til you can't get your head out of doors

I'm sitting here on the top of the world
I hang around in the longest night
Until each beast has gone bed and then I say
God bless and turn out the light
While you lie in the dark, afraid to breathe and you beg and you promise
And you bargain and you plead
Sometimes you confuse me with Santa Claus
It's the big white beard I suppose
I'm going up to the pole, where you folks die of cold
I might be gone for a while if you need me

Now I'm dead, now I'm dead, now I'm dead,
now I'm dead, now I'm dead and you're all
going on to meet your reward

Are you scared? Are you scared? Are you scared?
Are you scared?
You might have never heard, but God's comic
