@mousy,
Quote:
3:6, "Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it." (emphasis added)

Would that fruit be the sperm(seed) of the serpent?

Key word in your quote is "food" and with that food she ate it not stuck it up her uterus.

@mousy,
Religious literature is used to convey absolutes, truths that apply in every situation. That caracteristic leads us to a second thought, can you imagine any and all situations were it can be applied? No, they are infinte, that is why it is absolute, that is why it is truth. So if you can't contain in your mind the complete truth, because it has no end, what makes you think that words could contain them? So if the words contain no truth in them what do they contain? Words can provoke the transformation of ideas, that is religious literature, not the truth as it is said, but as it makes you "feel", to believe.

@mousy,
What fall.

If Eve had not chosen correctly none of us would be here.
She did not fall from the Garden of ignorance, she joyfully leaped into knowledge and wisdom instead of stupidity.

Without her, mankind would have no history because almost everything has good and evil aspects.

*not an attack but merely a reflection on the story*

Christians think a woman got in an argument with a snake and that humanity with all of it's races are descended from two white people from Iraq and that somehow we have all this ethnic diversity without a hint of evolution

I really don't think it would be right to call anyone crazy

Your remark is uninformed of the conditions in the garden and of God's intentions it Adam and Eve hadn't disobeyed.

How do you know what history would have been?

Not an argument, a discussion. The same kind we have here, only in person.

The garden did not include knowledge of good and evil.
If we would have remained, what would we talk about or do. Name anything that does not include good and evil aspects to it.

Without that knowledge even sex is not possible. We would not be here.
Eve did good in escaping from the garden of ignorance.

Since God did not reboot at that point in time then we can deduce that Eve and Adam did the right thing.

Waiting till later to reboot would mean killing many instead of the few.
Not what God would do.

Why did God place the tree in the garden along with the tree of life?

In today's immediate access world, maybe it is hard to envision a provision for the future teaching or education of people, but the knowledge of good and evil may have been something God, would have preferred to teach His children, Himself, without the interference of a corrupt interloper.

How, pray tell, is sex evil?

Why would God tell Adam and Eve to be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it if they didn't have sexual reproduction? Did they have asexual reproduction? Did God redesign Adam and Eve when they were cast out of the garden?

He had to put it somewhere.

The corrupt interloper is a minion of God and did His will.
If He wanted to teach Himself I think He would have done whatever He wanted.

The whole of Genesis is an archetypal story and not to be read literally.

Inside the garden sex would not exist for Adam and Eve. Sex has good and evil aspects.
Let us say they did have sex. That would mean that all offspring would be ignorant of good and evil and we would all be no better than animals in the field. Having rudimentary instincts perhaps but no knowledge or wisdom.

Your whole premise is wrong and is a product of a corrupt mind set. The mind set being that an individual has no responsibility for his/her actions. The responsibility lies outside the individual. That is an original lie. I don't know if that is the original lie, only God can tell. It is one of the first though.

Whithout that premise, Satan can't blame God for Satan's choices.
