Is Logic More Useful in a Technological World?

Does technology make more logical?

Has technology made for a more logical world and society?

Is logic more useful in technological world?

Would the world be better run by logic and or technology?

Is this why we keep trying to instil soul into the machine?

Is this why we thing the machine has intelligence?

Is logic an awareness?

Can technology be aware?

*I really did condense, answer one, some or all, or add your own question*

@sometime sun,
Logic and technology is totally different things to me. Imagination and intelligence created technology,common sense made logic. Am I right?

@notsoconfused,
Google boolean logic. It's pretty much the foundation of your computer.

@sometime sun,
Well, technology endeavors surely involve the outputting of conclusions, engaging in analysis, methodic evaluations, etc -- before the assembly line of commercial products. And its gadgetry yields concrete evidence of the "power" of proper thinking, not to mention the latter having to be employed in dealing with the consequences of an ever-changing world born from the former.

The haphazard, tinkering Edison types are more or less dinosaurs, so obviously engineering and its standards dominate: Formal systems regulate both the process of design and ensure manufacturing consistency. To advance any new directions or meta- approaches and schemes in workshop procedures will also involve crafting arguments --utilizing reason, not just popular people skills. In any sense of both technological progress and systems of reasoning being subsumed under concern about and dependency upon "how things hang together", then a common roof looms overhead.

Technology is just one more area where logic may apply. It you build a computer it's not very logical to use it type out your shopping list while still managing your economics with pen and paper.

There is a kind of try and fail aspect to it. Technology that serves a purpose and makes things better or easier tends to get further developed. Logical.

No. Not more, not less. But as areas of activity increase, areas where logic may be applied also increase.

Better than what? The world isn't run by technology, technology is a tool. So is logic.

Is this why we keep trying to instil soul into the machine?

Are we doing that?

Is this why we thing the machine has intelligence?

Is what why? These two questions seem to kind of assume answers to the previous ones?

Quote:
Is logic an awareness?

Perhaps it is possible to speak of logic awareness. Haven't really given it much thought. To what end would we speak of such?

Quote:
Can technology be aware?

Yes. A sensor can be programmed to activate on detecting motion and activate a light, for instance. It may not have a whole lot of opinions of it, but it is a kind of awareness.

Is this part of some school assignment?

@sometime sun,
Logic help in finding way of solutions for a problem where as Technology is making of tool, technique or a complete solution for any problem.
Technology has helped develop more advanced economies (including today's global economy) and has allowed the rise of a leisure class.
