Yup, that's how I feel, too.

@ehBeth,
Well, there's so few of us here, as opposed to being from other countries, that we need to stick together. Wink

Well, I've already given it to Olga, so I guess it's okay to give to you as well then.

Its sometimes frustrating to come across a thread whose original post I'd like to talk to; only to find that the last two pages of responses have digressed to 4-word quips about someone's doggy-pooh, or some such.

I would suggest that you quote the portion to which you want to reply and then just post your response.

Yea, that's kind of what I'm doing. It's not a big deal - just empathizing with the initial sentiment.

@mark noble,
What?

Are you havin a lend?

If posters on any thread digress and this is not to your liking you thumb those posts down.

I'm sorry mark but i dont understand how you arrived at the conclusion I was advocating thumbing down your own posts.

Dad(somewhat bewidered)pad

Have you been lured into digressing?

As in any discussion, there are interruptions as well as digressions. The former are rude and more often than not attempts at self-inflation at the expense of Others wishing to discuss a particular topic; the latter are the result of the natural flow of conversation and thinking, where different but related thinking flows from suggestions about a topic.

@jgweed,
Whether I initiate a post where digressions happen, or digress in someone else's, I don't see them as an attempt at self-inflation. I see them as contributions, and I love it when others chime in and takes my threads in a completely different direction. Even when I post serious threads, the humour is always welcome. Just my 2 cents.

@spendius,
Hi Spendius!

Why do so many here refer to you as a troll?
I have seen no such thing!

Thank you, and have a terrific day!

@mark noble,
He is NOT a troll. He's one of my favourite people. He has an interesting mind.

Edit: Plus, I really appreciate his creative insults!
