Oh go on, I'll give it to you......seeing as the football highlights are about to start.

We "passed through" for four days on the way to Hawaii (after my hospital bit was sorted out, my wife and I decided to live a little and travelled a straight line around the globe....hence the Vancouver bit earlier on)....anyway, we left on the 19th May, and the Coup happened on the 20th.

The Islands are mainly made up from people who originated from Africa (slaves to work the sugar plantations)...and were the friendliest people I have ever met.
There was a small minority of Indian/Asians on the Islands, who seemed to own everything and have all the seats of power in their Government.

Big overthrow....Prime Minister held hostage in the Parliament building for a few days, then everything settled down after negotiations about future power sharing.

If we had left a day later (well, we wouldnt have done ) we would have been stranded at the Airport with lots of guns going off etc.
Someone must have been looking over us on that occasion. The first we heard about it was on the radio in a bar in Hawaii, whilst drinking a Mai Tai.

Bloody lucky eh?

Oh well, I'm off to watch the footie.
Goodnight CJ, and anyone else who may be around.

Well, I had to leave for a while too...

wow, that's some story. I've never been to Fiji and Hawaii
is nice and the Mai Tai's pleasant, but I always feel it's not so different than my little paradise here.

I'm glad you stop and smell the roses now, even though
it took an illness to realize what's important in life.

Good night and I hope your favorite team wins Wink

Not Matterhorn. I do not think the peak is very famous among multiple mountains of celebrity in Switzerland. But I believe one can name the castle.
