OK, I've followed you up until "Select the one you want so you've got it in a new window... " and I have no idea how to do that.
Just click on your small picture so it becomes a larger one. When you go to properties (place cursor on large picture, right click and choose properties), you will see a description which starts
www.domain etc etc.
Just copy that, and then paste it here. (with a question etc of course).
OK, I'm gonna try Tico's suggestion. Let's see if this works.
Where and what is this building?
(Yay -- thanks, Tico!)
Why thank you.... <beaming from the compliment>
I was looking at the imageshack... it has the cutest golden frog. I may take it as an avatar one day.
Lord E -- The reason I've blinkered out the Red Dwarf is I'm "Thinking Sun" and "Summer".... Beltane, y'know.

So quick! I think you're right... I remember that stiff climb.
Lord Ellpus wrote:Greenwich? Observatory?
Observatory, but not Greenwich.
Washburn Observatory, Lake Mendota, Wisconsin?
Not Washburn Observatory.
Vassar College Observatory
Well, that took less time than it took me to post the dang image! Yes, it's the observatory on the Vassar College campus, which is named for Maria (pronounced Ma-rye-ah) Mitchell, one of the most prominent women scientists of the 19th century (that's her in the niche in the front).
On that same theme .... where/what is this?
<watching with interest> Thinking 19th C. observatories all look alike.
Tico -- That's a lighthouse not an observatory isn't it?
Hmmm. I dunno .... what do you think?
Actually, although some might think it one or the other or both, in reality I believe it was not a lighthouse and had nothing to do with astronomy.
I have no idea. It is shaped sort of like a light house, but it should be closer to water... but shorelines change. Maybe it is just a lookout.
I suppose you're gone, Tico, but you'll see this question tomorrow --
... USA?
Looks like someone built their home like a lighthouse..
Ponce de Leon, FLorida?
Some place colder/less tropical than florida... I think.
It is shaped like a lighthouse, but not one. The 86-foot tower, which stands 240 feet above sea level, was a signal station, used to identify ships entering the harbor.
Colder than Florida.
