It's a former mansion, a house of (minor) nobles.

Situated a 30 seconds walk from where I lived as child and youth (and where I nowadays drive daily to look at my mother and aunt).

(My father thought -and wrote such in the article - that this place might have been origianally connected to the founders of an abbey in my native in about 940.)
