This isn't a guess, as I wouldn't have the foggiest idea about beaches in California, and couldn't name one.
It looks like some beaches on the south coast of Kangaroo Island, off the coast of South Australia, (getting south enough!). Can't see the seals, though. Next stop, Antarctica!
margo, Are you planning a trip to Antarctica? I'm hoping that will be my next destination, and have been looking at a ton of travel brochures. I'm thinking of doing the (approx) 30 day trip that will include Rio and the Falkland Island.

Sh!t, no! I hate the cold! But Antarctica looks stunning.
Some friends spent the winter there at the American base a few years back (as cooks!) and another friend spent the year at Casey Base as the doctor. They all raved about it.
I wonder what happened to Dek, who asked about Antarctica and then disappeared!
It's very expensive to get there, too - way beyond my skinny pockets! A 30-day trip sounds great, though - and I'll look forward to the photos!
C'mon people - work this one out, so we can get to one where I may have at least a faint idea!
