hm, I would say - yes...
little problem is that in Croatia we don't refer to anything as Middle East, but I am pretty sure that answer is yes.

What's Middle East in US? I have feeling that Israel and that area is Middle East in their terms. In Croatia that's "Close East".
But I still think that this country is considered Middle East in world terms. Actually, I googled it and got conformation Smile

And, yes, it's a former USSR republic.

Oh the crystal cathedral - I've been there and it is quite
ugly from the outside but incredible inside - especially
the christmas performances are breathtaking to see.
If you ever get a chance to see it, please do so.
